no, next year they just aren't going to stop playing it.

I remember growing up that part of the magic of the holidays was turning on KRZ the day after thanksgiving to hear the first X-mas song mixed in the play list.

that's crazy!! it's way too early. i'd like to enjoy the fall and thanksgiving before thinking about snow and Christmas.

Well here at Lowe's we had to have our Christmas displays fully set by September 28. In early-August I was top-racking artificial Christmas trees with a piece of power equipment and thought to myself "Are they nuts?!" We were sold out of most Halloween decorations by the first week of October.

I can understand retail stores wanting to set up early and be ready for the holidays, although Sept. 28 seems a little early, but to start playing Christmas music right after Halloween is a bit overkill. The official "Christmas season" doesn't start until after Thanksgiving.
