I am a firm believer in people. We are all by-products of our upbringing & environment.

NYR has his opinions as do we all, and we have to respect each other's right to voice them. Opinions DO require thinking.

But we all can & MUST learn from each other in order to grow & move forward.

If you were referring to my post, no I did not vote for Obama out of "white guilt" though there may be some who did.

This is the first time in my almost 52 years that I registered to vote SOLELY to vote for Obama 'cause he's the first person running for office that ever struck a chord in me.

Do I agree with everything he says? No. BUT his message of unity & new direction are what I think we need in order to survive as a nation.

All this crap about "race" goes over my head 'cause when I see Obama, I see a man....NOT a black man.

Why because his views on race or the election are different then yours? Maybe you don't agree with him but whose to say that he can't have his own opinion or views? I didn't expect something like that from you...

Who are you, CHS89 in disguise? How dare you say I can't think for myself. These are my opinions, no one else's. You had to throw in a personal attack, just because I have a different opinion than you.

I'm just hoping when the black people voted they just saw a man, not a black man, and voted for the person they truly thought was the better candidate. You know, there can be reverse racism out there too.
