Well you'd be so surprised. We wanted to teach the little fellows some board games, so they would know the games of the past. One of them was a wiz at Chess, at about 5! We play games often of Checkers, or Chinese Checkers........I am now looking for Parcheesi ! I am thinking I will easily find it on Ebay. We taught them all the card games while on a vacation in Rehoboth beach.......

I like the village just perfect too........I gave up on the street lights because of not liking the wires!
I like it with the train, but I lent that out along with the train station.........and my favorite skating rink.......Good Gosh, lots of fun things.
BTW if you go on Ebay look up Kurt S.Adler he made the set I have a few pieces of. This man died and all of his SNOWTOWN set are now quite costly. I had found them in Lowe's, thought they sparkled nicely.........when I went back, gone! It had become a big collectible.

Glad we got PA into the Village Spirit.........Yahooo...

My favorite toy was Ginny dolls and Paper Dolls.........
I tell the boys this when they are playing with the army men at my house, with all the tanks, and trucks, and tents..........
They like to be left alone to play with them, and I tell them..........yes, so did I with my cut-outs.
They find my tales of how I walked to town to buy them, and how I'd sit with them all day........interesting. They listen, and I can tell they are taking it all in.

Default Ha Ha's for the day....

Why?, Why?, Why?,

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know
the batteries are almost dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds'
when they already know there is not enough money?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars; but have to check when you say the paint is still wet?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks
when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use
the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with
hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times
with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put
it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle
with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say,
'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That
really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?'

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something
that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it
was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four
persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness.
Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Bill won a bunch of old Popular Mechanics, Mechanix Illustrated etc. magazines on Ebay from the 50's & we've been reading through them & laughing!!

I saw this one ad in a 1957 one for "The International Correspondence School" located in beautiful Scranton Pa.!!! (see 2nd pix)...

The ad tells about this "Average Joe" (wonder if he was a plumber??) who makes a decent salary of $82.00 a week, but could do SO much better by doing one of their correspondence courses & could be raking in a hefty $7000.00-$8000.00 a year & live "the good life"!!!

Go Scranton!!!

They're supposed to launch the space shuttle tonight at 7:55PM. We can usually see it from our driveway, so I'll try & get some pix...

We've got off 'n' on showers today(still remnants of Paloma), so hopefully it'll clear by then....
