As long as we're off topic..... Do any of you go to the local High School football games? I've had three kids in our high school over the last 10 years, and put in 8 years as a band parent, so I've been to lots of football games. Our team is actually pretty bad, but the band is always good and it's fun to hang out with the other parents. Tonight though we won! Wish the Phillies were doing as well!

What does this have to do with the conversation?

Nope, that "small-neighborhood" feel is dead & our "family" has been torn apart. Seems like that's the way NEPA, Florida & our whole society's going....it truly is a shame!!

There are no interesting threads left to spark discussion,
no topics worth posting that will survive, and no truthful
responses allowed. Just let me know where the after
party is.

Will the last one in city-data please turn off the lights?

Sorry, I never got into watching football although I do enjoy playing the game. Glad your team won. Can't cheer for the Phillies though since I am one of those dreaded Yankees fans.

I still see regulars posting here. And have you also considered that some may just be busy- school is in full swing, etc.

I know, it's boring, seems like you can't get heated or boom, it's closed. Kinda sucks.

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Scranton, Pennsylvania. After last call, the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk.

The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it.

He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the
bar and drove off.

Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off--they worked fine, (dry summer night), flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights.

He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then
remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons' vehicles left.

At last, when he was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down the road.

The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started
up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test.

To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all!

Dumbfounded, the officer said, I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.'

'I doubt it,' said the truly proud man.

'Tonight I'm the designated decoy.'
