I must say that geraniums are the best, our way! They keep budding until fall.......They bloom and bloom. I can actually go away and have them still be there. Yahoo to them.......
Impatience come in second to that.......some vines and the spike greens and grasses.........
But, other things........just visit a short while and gone.
Probably me.......and Oh well.........I'll take them for a short while then. I love spring and flowers too much not to try, try, again.

Geraniums are beautiful!! Down here, they bloom from October thru June, & if you keep 'em shaded a bit in the summer, they keep the cycle going. Our summer sun is a bit too strong to have them in it direct, so we keep ours in large pots so they can be moved when it starts really heating up...

Speaking of fragrance, I also got a maxillaria tenuifolia orchid. The flowers are more "interesting looking" than pretty, but they smell like that Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion...coco-nutty!!! Also bought 2 other "mini" orchids which I just mounted on the trunk of one of my palms. They'll eventually root around the palm trunk & form a "clump" with tons of flower spikes!!

Hey Mrs. Summering...you guys OK up there??
It showed the Carolinas, Georgia & North Florida gettin' WHAMMED with tornadoes, massive lightning & high winds!!
We're getting that line this afternoon (so we can still go back to the Plant Show this morning... ) & our radar's showing 5-600 lightning strikes per hour!!! (though it's supposed to weaken a bit by the time it gets down our way... )
Hope you "weathered the storm" OK!!!

Feel really bad about someones house fire back home by us in PA and near Ms Pocono..........
They lost 3 dachshunds and 2 cats and 2 birds........one little Shih Zu somehow made it out.....I love those dogs...So smart, friendly and cheerful. The other breed is just equally as sweet.
Thank goodness the people were ok........but...........such a loss there. The home went up in just a few minutes.

They had a HUGE variety of tropical flowers, palms & bromeliads at excellent prices....JG was in Heaven!!
I got a "Lady Of The Night" plant as well as the "Princess Of The Night" & it's in bloom...very strong fragrance of gardenia & cinnamon wafting on the breeze!! We have all the windows & doors open (the inside of the house is 82 from the south winds today!! ) & the smell is coming inside....aaahhhh!!!
I was up on the ladder trimming branches when we got home. (I can't sit still for long... ) & my back is feeling a little bit better with all the walking & trimming today. Seemed to hurt more when I "babied" it & sat around all day...
Go figure....

Sounds like you had a ball! I can't wait to do some planting at my new place, I just can't be inspired to do much here and then leave it. I'm already eying what I'm going to dig up to bring down with me!
As for the back, I've felt the same way. It seems moving around helps it so much more than sitting around all day. Even if I overdo the gym, moving the muscle I hurt heals it faster than letting it rest. I guess it keeps up the blood flow in the area or something.

Oh, that's terrible! I can't imagine losing my animals like that. I got the alarm system that calls the fire dept if it detects a fire because of my animals! Will have one in my next house too.

Glad you guys are OK!! We have all our old pix, important papers, etc in plastic & ready-to-go if we get a hurricane warning & decide to evacuate...
The front came through by us about an hour ago, & it was just a little rain....

Well, my back problem is skeletal, not muscular. When I was a young idiot, I'd carry 200# swing sets on my head & all manner of stupidity...wrecked my spine.... When it goes out, it's like "bone-on-bone" grinding...not pleasant... Ben Gay & all the rest don't do a thing... But if that's all that I have to deal with, I'm very lucky!!
We went back to the Plant Show & I got my Weeping Bamboo...(see pix 1). Pix 2 is the Lady Of The Night, & the rest are some of our purchases....starting tomorrow I have to settle on where their new jungle home's gonna be...

^^^^ My Papa in Jacksonville said the storm was very nasty by him, but he's ok too.
Great plants! I've got the planting bug pretty bad, but our frost date isn't until April 15th. I'll have to settle for a hyacinth in my office or something like that. I can take the bulbs down with me when I move.
Oh, and a little joke for this Monday morning....
Two vultures board an airplane, each carrying two dead raccoons. The flight attendant looks at them and says, "I’m sorry, gentlemen, only one carrion allowed per passenger."

LOL!! Here's another airplane one backatcha...
A jumbo jet is making its final approach to Tampa Airport .
The pilot comes on the intercom, 'This is your Captain. We're on our final descent into Tampa . I want to thank you for flying with us today and hope you enjoy your stay in the Tampa Bay area'.
He forgets to switch off the intercom. Now the whole plane can hear his conversation from the cockpit.
The co-pilot can be heard saying to the pilot, 'So, Skip, whatcha got planned while we're in Tampa ?'
'Well,' says the skipper, 'first I'm gonna check into the hotel, take a big crap....then I'm gonna take that new stewardess with the huge breasts out for dinner.... I'm gonna wine and dine her, take her back to my room and give her a ride on the baloney pony all night long.'
Aghast and amused, everyone on the plane hears this and immediately begins looking up and down the aisle, trying to figure out who this new stewardess is that the pilot's talking about.
Meanwhile, the new stewardess is seated at the very back of the plane.
She is so embarrassed that she starts running toward the cockpit to turn the intercom off.
Halfway down the aisle, she trips over an old lady's bag and down she goes.
The old lady leans over and says: 'No need to hurry, dear. He's gotta land the plane and take a @&%$ first.'
