Yeah, it's funny Florida right now is having a "cold" spell it's in the 60's..and they are all complaining.
Not me..it's a welcome change from our last never ending summer that lasted well into December with
the temps in the high 90's...give it a break already...are they never happy down here? I love the snow,
but the older I get, I realize it's for the young, don't want to shovel anymore or drive in it..but to each
his own. I think when you're young you don't mind the cold as much...when you get older, everything
aches, LOL. so I'll take florida in the winter thank you, but then the summer. that's when I like to escape.

Yes, LOL......I have the sissy blood.
I use to spend entire days outside on the ice, or sledding......shoveling. But, gosh....
I guess my blood turned into a sissy.
I have been in Florida on the hottest of days. Warm, hot, and humid don't bother me as much as cold. I've never complained in the summers in Florida, and doubt that I would start.
It is my favorite state. SC has had quite a chilly winter this year. Not many days to sit at the beach yet. But.........I think they should be coming up shortly. I am hoping so.
Mr D. Webb is just cozy, and warm with that pellet stove going......don't let him kid ya'. They produce some real Florida heat...

Gulf Shores, Alabama - only AL is getting snow right now, so you may want to wait a week or so - global warming will kick in again soon

I dunno, weluvpa. It seemed much warmer on St. Thomas than usual this year. Even the locals were feelin' it. When they sweat, it's hot! We were forced to spend a lot of time at Iggie's sippin' voodoo juice buckets to cool down.

Default The U.S.Census Begins

Today, I received in the mail a letter from Robert M. Groves, (he's the director of the Census Bureau) telling me that in a week from now, I'll be receiving a U.S. Census Form in the mail.

I don't suppose it occurs to the government that it isn't necessary to send me a letter to tell me they're going to send me a letter. Wouldn't I know I was receiving a letter when I received it?

Now, surely this could be construed as yet another way for the gubmint to waste my money. Or perhaps they are only trying to bring the USPS back into the black.

Either way, I resent paying taxes to have it squandered on unnecessary expenses. Especially since I have precious little left to squander on me.

I guess they could be thinking, (or not) that I'm too stupid to know when I receive a letter. And too stupid to know that if it says CENSUS 2010 on the envelope that it would have something to do with the census.

Or they could just figure that since they still had some money, it would be a good idea to spend it before somebody found out and spent it on something sensible.

SO did you get your pre-letter letter yet?
