"My husband decided it would be a good idea to drill a hole into his right thumb which required emergency surgery"

He's a good man. When I did it, it required only dancing around and swearing. He must have used a bigger drill bit ;-)

Oh Good luck with your new home. We also live on Long Island and bought in WLE last spring. We did look also in the Hideout but there were things that we needed that WLE offered (parking for a RV etc).

Anyway, you will love it in this area. My neighbour is federal land so nobody can build there. Even though the lot is smaller than Long Island, it feels so much bigger. We try to come up as much as possible and my little son cries when it is time to go home. The area is so nice, much slower than Long island ; when you go out to eat, take your time ; dont expect instant service ; I am not complaining at all ; its a wonderful thing to sit back and slow down.

Good luck

dorothy

Frostbit I want to wish you good luck with your new home. I just found out that the home you bought was the one my friend was interested in. She was coming this weekend to see it again. What a small world. We met on this very website!!!

Personally, I prefer to stab myself with a screwdriver. Ouch.

Roxxy38,
Did your friend find a house yet? They said this one was on the market for quite awhile. Are you close by? We are closing the monday after thanksgiving ! We have looked at many homes and even though this one still needs work we loved the location. Btw I think you stuck up for the hideout to another poster who apparently doesn't like there and I have your back...even though we don't live there yet. Anyway thanks for all the info you've been great! Frostbit

I live on the North side close to the clubhouse. My friend didnt yet she was really upset you bought the house she liked. I feel it just wasnt meant to be. I also know someone here who is selling a house for a great price and told her about it so she does have options.

I hope you love it here as much as my husband and I do!!!

Frostbit...you are gonna love it here! I promise! Really...in 15 years, I can honestly say I have never met a family that has moved here and wanted to move out because they were unhappy. People move out when their circumstances change, but what's not to like about this place??

Roxxy38,
I think I'm confused about your friend?? We have been in contract with this house for quite a while. There were some issues we had to iron out. I don't know why any real estate agent would be interested in showing the house to only be wasting her time? At no time we were not interested, we found out that the other real estate told someone in their office our accepted offer (which I thought they were not supposed to do) and all of a sudden this house that was on the market for 420 days everyone wanted. I'm assuming they were still showing the house? Which I don't understand??? We were in a constant battle about certain things that were misrepresented. I don't know why but I feel kind of bad now for your friend . I hope she finds what shes looking for. No hard feelings. Frostbit

Oh I am sure she will get over it. Dont worry about it. But I do know that the home was shown to her and it was recently, maybe a month ago.
