Another thing, along with my mother being a single parent raising 3 kids.. My brother is not my father's child. My dad adopted him until the divorce then all of a sudden 'he's not my son'. I don't blame him, but he shouldn't have adopted him then. Anyway, so child support was brought into the picture for my sister and I, but not my brother. That right there hurt my mom financially. My father barely ever paid, and GOT AWAY with it. Unfortunately in PA, it went by my father's state for Public Relations. And when he did pay it was maybe a few months at a time, separated by like a year or 2 in between. My sister is the youngest and just turned 20. My father is now paying BACK CS for all the years he didn't pay when we were under 18. As it stands, he'll be paying for the next 10 years. Yeah my mom had it harder than you might imagine.

They should do what they are doing in Berwick. The taxes and rent are increasing and the low lifes can't afford to live there anymore. Plus, it was great that the landlords have to check the people out and no more illegals.
Hopefully, town will be a better place to live and my friends that live there don't have to watch over there shoulders all the time. Too much drug activity. Too many illegal immigrants. From what I hear about the town, It will be a great place to live within the next ten years. Think about all the things that are happening in the surrounding communities. Widening of the roads, public sewers going in, and the expansion of jobs with the cargo airport going in. Developments are also planned in the furure for the Berwick and surrounding areas. Lets hope the economy turns around and we can all benefit from the progress. It all takes time...

The other day at work one of my co-workers had her window smashed and her purse stolen from her vehicle at our parking lot in Edwardsville (not a surprise considering what a dump that town is though).

At this point I would advocate for a massive tax increase in Luzerne County to immediately double or triple our police force. Crime is getting to be OUT OF CONTROL!

I had to stop and watch but thinking i was going to get shot sure makes it hard to stay

I used to absolutely HATE traversing past the soup kitchen en route to campus from my parking lot, and that was one of the primary reasons I now pay more to park in a safer part of the city. I can still fondly recall walking down Bennett Street (the alley behind the kitchen) around "feeding time" and having a few of the workers (volunteers?) there making cat calls at me and heckling me as they puffed their cigarettes as I passed them. I also recall one fateful morning when I walked past an older African-American male who was sprawled out on the sidewalk staring at me as I passed. I kind of felt sorry for him so I said "Good morning" to him, and he staggered to his feet, started screaming expletives at me, made fun of my swagger, and began to "challenge" me with his fists as he staggered towards me in a drunken stupor. Let's not forget the famous Wilkes-Barre finest residents who hit up college students (who are already tens of thousands of dollars in debt to begin with) for money, booze, or cigarettes. The sooner they tear that place down for gentrification the better.

I thought that Kings had posted bulletins quite some time ago (about a year or so) for students to walk in groups for safety?

I know when my son was there, some students formed a 'watch' where they would escort students around campus.

What was the location, street wise, of the mugging?

There have been two muggings recently. One was along North Main Street just north of the intersection of North Street. The other was at the intersection of North Washington & East Union (ironically right near where I used to park before I started paying more for a lot in a better part of town). Yes, we receive text message alerts, e-mail notifications, and have safety notices posted all over campus when someone is mugged (which sadly happens too often anymore).

Some people are just born as scum and will be nothing more than scum their entire lives. It is only when heads get chopped off that people wake up to reality. I predict anarchy within the next 15 years. The intelligent people of America are getting tired of supporting the trash of society!
