Default Wishing I was there

I am sitting here reading about snow coming and skiing in the Poconos. I am so jealous because it is 91 degrees here, and we can't even go outside because of the smoke and ash from the fires burning. This was the closest we have come to being in the midst of the fires. We live in Yorba Linda, CA, and the fire got as close as 3 miles away from us. We are thanking God that we were spared, but I am so sad after watching all the people that lost their homes.

Next year at this time, we hope to be living in PA. It can't happen soon enough.

Hello Rosanne!

It's great to here from you! I know you were considering relocation to the Lehigh Valley. Have you expanded your horizons to include the Poconos/NEPA as well?

I am so happy for you and your family that your home was spared. I can't imagine how scary that must have been.
Congratulations on your move next year. I too cannot wait. What a wonderful experience this is going to be!

I don't ski but this year i am very happy about it being close to start because my daughters girl scout troop is doing a 6 week beginners class as a group and since i am leader i will be learning with them. So if you see somebody overly dressed ( i hate the cold) with 14 girls on a the bunny slope falling every 30 seconds that will be me. Please feel sorry for and bring me a cup of hot chocolate !

Thanks Stephanie for the good wishes. I am also looking forward to a pleasant moving experience.

Paul, we are still planning on moving to the Lehigh Valley next year. It should have happened this year, but circumstances beyond our control kept that from happening. We hope to be there by next summer, God willing. We will probably not be looking anywhere farther than the Lehigh Valley area since we want to be close to our families, and the Poconos or NEPA would be just a bit too far away. Also, we don't mind a bit of snow, but we don't want to have to deal with as much as those other areas get.

Wow, you will be so glad to not have that worry. Three miles is too close...
I've been quite worried about California, and watching the shows about it each day. That was so scarey.
You will love Lehigh Valley........and by this time next year you'll be waiting for the first snow too.
It will be in the 20's each night this week. Cold enough for ya'?

Default Cool Weather Sounds Wonderful!!

Summering, temperatures in the 20's sounds great to me, even in the 60's or 70's would be great, since it's been in the 90's for the past 5 days. On top of having to deal with the heat, we had the fires and 50-70 mph winds. You haven't experienced what is known here in So. Calif. as a Santa Ana event until you've felt 50 mph winds along with a temperature of 95 degrees. That's why they are also known as "Devil Winds."

I am so looking forward to getting away from these temperatures, which seem to be increasing more and more every year. It doesn't seem like we get any seasons any more other than summer all year round.
