Well I highly doubt an innocent person would commit suicide over a night or 2 in jail. Seriously. Why would they if they KNOW that nothing can be connected to them?!

Besides, if a criminal wants to take their own life, who cares? Let them! Good riddance, I say.... I just can't see being upset about that?! They did something to begin with to be in police custody. They are scum then, and have no right to be in our society.
They were probably minor offenders and the police were probably busy with the more serious criminals

Wasn't it you that was railing about generalizations, that they aren't fair, and not everyone who _____ is a _______?
What if one of these people resorted to crime as a last resort to feed their family, after giving up their cable TV and internet service? Still scum that deserve to die?

Yes because if you are that bad off then you won't be denied welfare. There is a difference between a needy family, and resorting to crime. NO CRIMINAL, no matter how big or small the crime, is worth a place in our society. Crime is crime. That is NOT generalizing.

A crime is a crime is right...get welfare help...or,hey....maybe a job or two
in a fast food joint...nothing wrong with hard work...thats not a good excuse..
commiting a crime to feed your family...than your taking away from someone who is sacrificing for theirs...

Wans;t condoning crime. you made two statements...they're in jail, who cares if they kill themselves, then...they probably committed a minor crime.
Would you care if someone stole to feed their family, was arrested, and killed themselves over it? That's what you said. I'm just trying to figure out it your thought about it, and really mean it...

Stealing, no matter how small is still a crime! If they are a criminal of ANY kind, they do not deserve sympathy. And they will not get it from me. Sorry. Not happening. A struggling welfare family who is trying the honest way by working, yes I can sympathize with them because I have been there. I watched my mom struggle and I know how hard she tried. But she NEVER once resorted to crime. Sorry, just don't buy your reasoning. Being poor and struggling does NOT justify CRIME!
