My uncle Everett Hawley and his brother Clayton were on that train. Because some men were arriving late to board, my uncle and his brother were boarded in the front cars. Thank God they only have superficial wounds, but our hearts go out to the men who never went back home. They recently had a reunion which my uncle attended.
