Don't know if there was a thread like this in the past, but here's a new one.

What's for supper tonight?

We're having home made Italian sausage and ravioli soup, with fresh, hot bread, and a Christmas cookie chaser afterward.

There has been an ongoing thread titled "NEPA cookin'" for things like this and recipe sharing. As for dinner tonight, for us it was Thanksgiving leftovers, and I think tonight after the fourth straight night of turkey, I am officially sick of it! I think I'll give the rest of it to my cats..lol.

Yeah, I figured there was another thread somewhere, I was just too lazy to find it.

Everyone's dinner sounds GOOD! (though I don't get sick of turkey, since we have Thanksgiving at friends house and help them out by bringing home only the DESSERT leftovers...ha ha)

OK Juhn....do you cook your pigs in the blanket on the stovetop? My Mom just made them today and the cabbage on the bottom burnt and gave the whole pot a burnt taste. Kinda dissappointing after all that work. I think I'd try it in the crock pot....also....do you use sauerkraut too?

No I cook the cabbage, about 2 heads on the stove in water. Let cool. Get about 2 lbs of beef, 1 lb of pork. Cook about a half box of rice. add 4 raw egg's, salt, pepper, paprika, parsley flakes, 1 whole white onion, and one whole red one. Chopped up. Mix all together real good by hand.

Get a big pan put about 4 to 5 cans of Hunt's tomato sauce in it. wrape up the meat in the cooked cabbage, place in pan. Oven on 350, bake for about 1 hour, after that take tin foile off the pan and put Hunt's tomato paste on top of the pigs. Cook for another hour at 350.

Make sure you ch the meat temp, before you are done! Take out of oven let stand for 20 mins and serve!!

Ha Ha, I always thought pigs in a blanket is cocktail franks wrapped up in pillsbury crescent rolls (my hubbys favorite).

I made a chicken with fresh cranberry sauce, corn (and dont get sick) stove top stuffing. I really love thanksgiving but I didnt cook this year and I have no left overs. Ahh maybe next year.
