Beautiful, as always! This year I have yet to start my Christmas shopping (yes, I am one of those dreaded procrastinators), but I do plan to spend about $500 o gifts and perhaps $250 divided for various charitable contributions. I have also committed to "practice what I preach" in that I'm only going to hit up the big-box stores and national chains if absolutely necessary (i.e. Best Buy has no mom-and-pop rivals in the region). The only "chain" I'm going to be doing some serious shopping at is Boscov's, and that's because I feel as if Al Boscov is one of the primary reasons as to why Wilkes-Barre is currently undergoing its impending renaissance (despite another murder in the Heights last night), and we should reward his optimism for the city with loyalty to his namesake company.
Beyond that I will be heading to Downtown Honesdale and Downtown Tunkhannock over the next few weeks to do some shopping. I also plan to buy my sister a gift certificate to the Blue Hydrangea Gift Shop in Dallas so she can do some serious Vera Bradley shopping on her own (I'm not good with buying womens' handbags! LOL!)

I encourage my fellow NEPA forum friends to also try to do as much mom-and-pop shopping as possible. I'm also considering stopping into Fashion Ceramics in Pittston to buy something nice for my grandmother's hospital room.
