Anyone from Clarks Summit in the early 70's?
Does anyone remember a fast food type hamburger restaurant called "Pal's"? My Mom swears I must have dreamed this up because she can't remember it at all.

There was a Pal's on Moosic St in Scranton, I think where CVS or Dunkin Donuts now stands. Our Stop and Go was downtown near the current Hilton and I think was the first fast food place in Scranton, but I'm not certain.

Pals was right around where McDonalds is now. They used to have 5 burgers for a dollar. Stop & Go was down off Keyser Ave - I can remember my Dad taking us there on Saturday nights way before Pals was built. My sister was actually an assistant manager at Pals when I was in Junior High. This was back when we could walk down the tracks and still feel safe, and when we could walk down Rt 6 and wave at every car that passed us because we knew who it was!

Stop and Go was on Keyser Ave ... after it was Stop and go it became The Teddy Bear Steak Out ... not a chain (or maybe it was) ... that didn't last long and then it became Jiffy Lube ... now it sits empty once again ... I wonder what it will be next or will it be torn down.

Thanks! I do remember the Grants store..it was in a strip mall with an Italian restaurant and my Dad's favorite hoagie place (Gracie's?) was across the road. I'm sure CS has changed a huge amount over the years but I remember it as a great place to be a kid. Is it still?
Any other former students of Grove Street Elementary on the board?

I went to Grove Street. Football rules, Tackle on the hill, two hand touch on the concrete.
