Would like info on Tobyhanna/Pocono Area
Could someone tell me if this area is nice and convenient? How diverse is the area and how are the schools, public transportation, etc.? I live in Wilkes Barre right now and have been here my whole life. COmpared to W-B is this area better as far as crime? Any info would be good. Oh, I know this is higher elevation and probably gets way more snow too. What is there to do around this area also?

Search this site for posts on Tobyhanna and Pocono Country Place. Then search the Pocono Record. You don't actually have to live in PCP to experience the slums. They come out of the woodwork to shop and eat and cause trouble and get in your personal space and oh geez. Just do some searching.
Wilkes-Barre is 100 times better than that area!

I adore and trust Tina D'Amato, my realtor, who has assured me that, as a divorced woman alone, I am SAFE in Pocono Farms! She discouraged several communities but strongly encouraged Pocono Farms in Tobyhanma and I'm moving there with enormous enthusiasm!

Thanks for the info. I don't really keep up with things that go on in other areas unless it's somewhere that I go to alot. I really didn't think that area was that bad. I will reconsider moving there.

Village of Tobyhanna or Tobyhanna township? The latter contains some small villages that are quite nice.
