Utilities, Services in Tobyhanna?
THRILLED! I'm closing this week on a property in Pocono Farms! I backed out of the 4500 sq ft foreclosure house in Blakeslee after the inspection. I'm LOVING this immininately purchased house that I had to wait two weeks for Fannie Mae to select me from other bidders. I expect to occupy this week after two miserable weeks since selling my NJ property. Having everything in storage and not having my own home has been so miserable.
I'd like to arrange services so that I may get in as quickly as possible.
Whie is the Internet, TV and landline telephone service most effective in Pocono Farms?
Who is the utility company?
Thank you for a prompt reply!
Regards,
Sherry

You can get phone, internet and cable in one discounted bundle from Blue Ridge Communications. $99/month for the first year.
However, if you do use a cell phone, there are devices available today that will let you use a normal house phone, and it makes its connection thru a cell phone.
bluetooth gateway phone - Google Product Search
The device pays for itself in a month or two, and long distance on most cell plans is free (or less than land line long distance). Of course you'd want to verify good cell reception in the home first.

PPL is the power company. Blue Ridge is internet, phone, cable... there are a few other options for phone and internet (verizon i believe). I have the blue ridge phone, internet and cable and it is terrific! Phone is unlimited local and long distance and tons of features. Internet is fast and rarely goes down. and their cable offers lots of packages to tailor to your wants.
Here are their sites so you can begin to look into them

THANK YOU BOTH, SO MUCH!
I have a relatively new renewal contract with Verizon for my cell. I donm't like only having a cell (why do people like that? It's annoying carrying it all over the house!) I want to go to low minutes on the cell and have unlimited on the landline, plus high-speed Internet and good cable (addicted to Tru TV and other premium = but not HBO, etc - channels.)
VER excited and hoping to close within a few day. Just waiting for the appraiser to call and we're done!

Not trying to talk you into anything, but with the device I described, you don't carry your cell around the house. You leave it near the device. WE have a two station cordless phone, one station downstairs, which we plugged into the cell phone gateway. We can pick up the second cordless phone upstairs, and make a call. The call goes wirelessly to the base phone, thru a wire to the gateway, which connectc wirelessly to your cell phone (Blue Tooth). The cellphone actually dials and makes the call connection for you. You house phone is just an extension off your cell phone.
This will not work with a bunch of hard-wired phones though, only the one plugged into the gateway would work.
