Yes. Punxsutawney is located in West Central Pennsylvania and is just off of I-80. It is a couple of hours from either Pittsburgh or Erie.

Except for a couple of scenes the movie was filmed in the MidWest, Iowa or Indiana I think. As a near native trust me when I tell you that the real Punxsutawney looks nothing like the town in the movie. I did go to Gobbler's Knob a couple times years ago when there was just some local good old boys and Jack Daniels in attendance. Now the whole thing's a tourist draw and I have heard that alcohol is banned.

Yep. Big signs pointing to it. Phil the Groundhog lives at the Town's Municipal building, I think, and they haul him out for Feb. 2. Never paid a whole lot of attention, Jack Daniels was interfering.

Last fall we were driving down the road from the house. There is a beautiful log house near us and the front yard is a wide open field.

Lone behold ; there was a ground hog wibbling his belly just rambling along thru the field. It was gorgeous.

We nicknamed him jelly belly and havent seen him since. Oh but it was so nice.

the movie was filmed in Woodstock, Illinois. During the year, Phil lives in the town park in a little zoo where you can see him from the outside through glass

Jelly Belly probably met his demise !! They are so distructive, I have holes under my deck !!! They ate through the fence around my garden, hense ate my garden. I wish all the 'Phils' would go live in Woodstock, IL !!!!! Then we wouldn't have to shot them !!!!
