Hi, all. My grandmother is 90 and lives in the same house she has all her life in Berwick. She is really very independant, can walk and get around. And she is very lucid - sharp as a tack. But, still, she's 90. I live in Texas now, but my Dad actually lives with her. My Uncle and his family are only about 2 miles away. Between the two of them, they take care of most things with the house, cooking, errands, dr's appts, etc. However, there are times when they need to be out of town or just have other things to do.
So, we are thinking about having someone come in a couple days a week or so to maybe help her with some things - light housekeeping, laundry, etc. But more than the light help, we are generally looking for someone to keep her company for a little while. She gets bored sitting in the house by herself.
I know there are services available. I found
