Hi all and Happy New Year!! Does anyone live or have a home in Tanglewood Lakes or Tanglewood North? If so, can you tell me anything about the community? Are the people friendly? What about access to shopping, doctors, restaurants, etc.

Thanks for any information!

both are very nice... tanglwood lakes is not as rustic , they have a few more ammenities and their dues are much higher than tanglwood north..

basically the dues at tanglwood north are just for road maintance as there are no ammenities to speak of. people are friendly in both..

basic shopping is close by , you have iga and some stores along route 6. your 10 minutes from hawley and maybe 17 from honesdale.....

there is no major shopping close by except walmart in honesdale

the area is restaurant heaven with some of the best restaurants anywhere..

tort knox, settlers inn,the boat house, fallsport steak house ,eharhardts to name a few

like most of the rural poconos medical care is spotty.. most hospitals are far , and doctors and specialists are few

If I had my choice I'd live in Tanglwood North over Tanglwood Lakes, though the roads are definitely better in Tanglwood Lakes.

The reason I'd prefer Tanglwood North is that their dues are cheaper.

Tanglewood north is the choice. Most people dont realize that this community shares the beach with Tanglwood lakes. We also have a small club house free of charge and now the ski slope is back open. All we need is an outdoor pool and some tennis courts and we will be on top of our game. Tanglewood north also has some nice larger plots at over an acre on the paperbirch south side of the community. A real bargain get in while you can

I do have to say that there are some beautiful pieces of property and lovely views in Tanglwood North. I like that community quite a bit - it does share the beach with Tanglwood Lakes but it's a few miles away. If you guys could get a pool in there, that would be great, but then your dues would probably double....

Dont speed in tanglewood lakes. Security will get ya.... Ski slopes are gone in North.... Real estate is hurting like everywhere. Offer a low price to get the deal of a lifetime.....

Yep, the ski area is open and very busy. I don't ski and haven't been there myself but I have been told that they made some nice updates to the lodge.

And my professional experience with "low offers" is that the seller's idea of a "low offer" and the buyers idea of a "deal of a lifetime" are often in conflict.
