Default Pocono Mountain Charter School

Anyone out there who has children attending the Pocono Mountain Charter School I am looking for information and feedback from parents who are satisfied or dissatisfied by the school. Also anyone who knows about the schools reputation and expectations would be appreciated as well. I have a son who is starting kindergarten this year and I want to make sure I am making the right choice.

Default Charter School

My son is completing 1st grade at the Charter School, and I love it. I was drawn in by the smaller class sizes and family atmosphere at the school. The administrators know the kids by name, and and many of the children, even in different grades are familliar with each other.
Both his kindergarten teacher, and first grade teacher were always easy to contact by email, or notes sent in his bookbag.
I believe the expectation is high for our kids at the Charter School. Appearance (in uniform) is expected to be tidy. Bad behavior is not tolerated, especially since the principal and security staff (dressed in business attire or casual work clothes) are visible around the school as they walk the halls and talk with the students).
My only complaint is that they do not have a "gifted" program. My son has performed on a more advanced academic level than his peers. He remains in his regular 1st grade class, and although his curriculum has been adjusted to take into account his level of functioning, I still think they should have a seperate program for kids in his category. Needless to say.... I'm working on that.
Overall I would definately recommend Pocono Mountain Charter School.
I wish you and your child the best. Let us know how it works out.
