I do still like my neighborhood, but there's a bad element moving into West Side, and the worst thing is, the mayor doesn't care about West Side.
No, I rent fortunately. I live on North Hyde Park right behind Wachovia Bank and you're right, I can see the bad element everyday. I hear of drug busts right down the street and the future doesn't look too bright here. I mean right now it's not quite the South Bronx with bullets flying everywhere, but in time it will be. One of the reasons it's like this, as you mentioned, is that Doherty doesn't care about this part of the city and protecting it and maintaining it. Maybe because Gary is from here that he doesn't have love for West Side.

I hear ya. I think we are going to start to call ourselves the Lower Greenridge Militia and seal off the neighborhood. Remember the LTCF is only $35 at the sheriff's office and Bill's in North Scranton has fine selection of handguns and shotguns.

I have been seriously considering buying a gun to protect my family. The problem is, I've only shot a gun once in my life, and don't remember much about it as that was years ago.

Absolutely anytime you want to go to the range you just drop me a PM and I'll take you. Anytime.

I have been shooting for most of my life and will most certainly get you started correctly and accurately. My pistol training came from a retired army range officer instructor. He was top on the army shooting team in late 70's and early 80's and is now retired.

I'm in the same boat. Never owned a gun and only shot one maybe once in my life, just something I never really needed or had any interest in.
