When I was working in Blue Bell, PA, a suburb of Philly, I had a female dishwasher bring in a casserole type of food wrapped in Banana leaves. It was awesome, I will always remember trying this dish and thinking how lucky I was to get to try it.

There are two in W-B, one on Old River Road next to Kistler and on Northampton St across from the movie theater. I stop in them a lot actually and they have a good variety of products, and very nice people too.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe will check out those joints in WB, but never really down that way. Will check out Price Rite again too-- only been in there once and it was pretty brief..

So no one here has been in any of the Mexican mini marts in Scranton?

Smile Scranton Latin Grocery

Garcia's Market had a pretty good selection for a tiny market. I wanted to make Peruvian Huancaina sauce and while they didn't have that sauce (they had other good ones though), they did have frozen aji amarillo peppers so I was able to make my own. Not sure about the Mexican selection, but probably better than Wegmans. I agree, the Latin selection at Wegmans is not very good at all....most grocery stores seem to think that Goya is the pinnacle of Latin food. Better than nothing sometimes, and they make a few good basics, but far from the best. Enjoy!

Go to South Scranton, it is all Mexican now. Every store is Mexican except for the Convenient stores. Should be able to find anything you want.

La Mexicanita on Cedar Avenue has a decent selection of goods, but it's a little cramped.
