I realize that by now I must be getting annoying with my questions but....what about healthcare in Milford. From what I can tell there are no hospitals nearby. Can anyone tell me if there are adequate doctors' offices, pediatricians, specialists, in or sufficiently near Milford? My largest concern would be my children. Kids are always getting sick, check ups, not to mention if god forbid they need to go to the hospital/ER. What kind of proper care are we looking at in that area. In addition, I posted somewhere else on here about surgical tech/RN. That is what I'm going to school for (I'm debating between the two). However, will I be successful in finding a job there considering there's no hospital in that immediate area? I'm not asking how successful I will be financially or how many job openings there are, I'm asking about actual facilities. I'm going to school here in NJ but depending on when we decide to move, I may/will have to transfer...are there adequate schools or community colleges in that area where I can finish my studies in nursing/surg. tech? Lastly, what about nearby schools/colleges for my children should they opt to remain in that area? While I would appreciate an answer to all that I'm asking, my first and foremost concern is regarding the welfare of my children. Thank you

Pixie-
In proximity to Milford, there is Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, NY, Newton Memorial in Newton, NJ and Wayne Memorial out in Honesdale. There are also a few outpatient facilities in the area. I think there is a dialysis center, poss a cancer center. Also quite a few nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Not sure about colleges, I know there is Sussex Community College not far over the NJ border. Don't know about PA. Haven't been here quite long enough or needed that info yet.

Good luck!

Thank you!!! I was getting the impression that we'd have to drive 8675794 miles to a hospital LOL!

So far most of the people I've spoken to like Wayne Mem the best. We had my little guy down at Bon Secours last week for croup and I'm thinking they were ok since hubby didn't have anything bad to say.

When we lived in Sussex cty, our ambulance squad went to Newton frequently and I've heard of a few people who didn't care for it but for the most part I haven't heard anything really bad about Newton.
