lialleycat: Do you ride?? I certainly agree with your above statement! Everytime I turn my horse out I love to give him a hug and a sniff (as long as he's fairly clean anyway!) It's one of the things I really missed when I wasn't around horses for a long time.
I used to ride, but haven't in a few years. My reining trainer and the horse I used to lease went to North Carolina. I tried a few other barns, but just didn't seem to find a place I was happy. Then I went through my divorce and lost my job and I don't have any extra money for stuff like that with my new job. I miss it terribly, and it's one of the reasons I want to move so bad. Living here I can't even afford an occasional trail ride to get a 'fix'.

Well, I hope you are able to start again when you move. I didn't ride for most of my adult life. Then my daughter started lessons when she was little, which led to getting her a horse, which led to getting me a horse eventually too. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I was around horses again when my daughter started taking lessons. I guess horse-crazy little girls never really grow out of it!

I have come to terms with the fact that I will always be a horse-crazy little girl for as long as I live!
