That's exactly my point. This was brought to council's attention in 2007 not only to the podium but also via e-mail, and the only council member to respond affirmatively was Judy Gatelli. If it was a good idea in her eyes back then, then why would she wait now for an idea she thought might have benefited the city? I came up with the idea on my own accord and then did some follow-up research using what I think was the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee (but my memory is fuzzy so I could be mistaken) as a case study. I pitched it. Even pitching what some may consider to be a BAD idea is better than pitching NO ideas, as is the case with 75% of council speakers. I probably had no business as a non-city resident being at the podium, but this was a very tame and very sparsely-attended summer meeting, so I wasn't "stealing time" from other people by any means.

What kind of politician would I be if someone brought what I thought to be a beneficial idea to my attention and then sat on it until it became politically advantageous for me to capitalize upon it?

Maybe she totally forgot it was ever brought up and thought of it on her own, I really don't know.

Did I really just have to ask that?!

Totally forgot, almost immediately, an idea with potential benefits to the entire city, only to suddenly remember it three weeks before an election when it benefits her own cause?

Default Chris Doherty has a 3-year-old lovechild in Harrisburg?

If this is true, the days are numbered for the Doherty regime. And this is the guy who says he's a family man?

Heh, I stumbled on that yesterday. Felt like I made a wrong turn and found myself down some dark alley of the interwebs.

But what if its the truth? Politicians having flings is not unheard of. And with him naming names on there, if it isn't true, Joe set himself up to be sued....so I wouldn't think it would be made up as an election day stunt.

Nothing indicates that it is. Big deal, the loser gave his address and issued a challenge. Doesn't prove anything. Documentation will, but you'll never see that, will you?

And you're right. Politicians having flings isn't unherad of. So that makes this "revelation", if true, a non-issue in the scheme of things. It's just another attempt by a pitiful man to deflect the attention from his own personal issues onto something else. It's the same thing he accuses this administration of doing all the time. Nothing more, nothing less. He's a joke.

Some of threads on there mention a point spread between the candidates. Have there actually been any polls? Or are they just talking out their butts?
