I use met ed, has anyone ever really had success shopping around for a different "generation" source? is it really worth it?

Never knew one could do this. I always thought PPL was/has the monopoly on power around here.

You can shop around for electricity. Other companies generate it and use PPL's wires to deliver it (or something like that). I always figured it would even out in the end anyway so I never bothered to shop around. I'm interested to find out if anyone else has, though.

I once checked it out...got a list of providers through PPL and none of them could match PPL prices. This was several years ago.

So far i'm not finding any huge differences, may just be easier to stick with what i got.
