It can't exactly be cheap to build a structure made of ice and keep it frozen. It looks pretty cool to me.

Never said it was cheap to build. Just got some feedback from some friends who went and thought it would be much bigger for the price. Will check it out maybe during the week.

We went there last Saturday on our way up to NY state. We dressed our 6yo in snow pants inherited from my niece who lived in Lowville, NY at that age. It's not warm inside a barn full of ice. People wearing a light jacket, jeans, and sneakers were doing a lot of foot stomping and didn't stick around long. Dress for being OUTSIDE in WINTER before you go!

We couldn't pry our daughter out of there until the slide attendant said she couldn't slide on her knees after about the 12th time on the slide. Then after we were north of Binghamton she wanted to go back. Maybe next year, little one...

As far as we could tell the ice structures WERE all ice, except for the stairs up to the ice slide. There's definitely a cost to all that water, the refrigeration, and of course the artistry. Bearing that in mind it was about what we expected.

The people there did seem fairly happy and there was a good size but not jammed crowd. There was enough space in the parking lot for someone to drive in who was looking for a flea market.

An update...know someone who went a week ago and then today again...they have added lots more sculptures to the exhibit. Slide now has cardboard sections to sit on so you don't need snow pants. Large adults were using the slide.

Default cystal cabin fever

Yes you definately need snow pant and they provided a canvas if you wanted to use that. The kids really enjoyed the slide as they could go faster than me... It's a once and done fun activity b/c of the price b/c it could be steep for an entire family but the highlight was seeing the work and detail that went into the sculptures.
