New Dairy Ice Cream Parlor Coming to Back Mountain
Yesterday at work I assisted a nice wholesome family who is in the process of opening up a new dairy-fresh ice cream parlor along Carverton Road in the Trucksville section of Kingston Township, adjacent to Pizza Perfect. We sell some stylish 30" round, tile-topped, "retro" tables at Lowe's that they thought would be ideal for their business because the three colors in the tile matched the color scheme of their venture. Apparently they live on a farm and will be making and selling their own fresh ice cream (sounds similar to Manning's, Blue Ribbon, and Hillside Farms to me). They will also be similar to Cold Stone Creamery in that they will allow you to add all sorts of various candies and goodies into your order.
Since I made a good impression upon them they promised me a free ice cream when I go scope them out after Lent ends (I sacrificed the tasty treat for this season of reflection). I will report back with my findings in April. I figured this may be of particular interest to members like EnyaGirl, who lives in the Back Mountain.

Neat...one of my dreams is to operate a dairy farm that sells fresh ice cream. I'll have to check this out when the warm weather gets here...it's coming soon.  |

They told me they're shooting to open the first week of April. As I said I'll be up in mid-April just after Easter to scope the place out. I've actually had a WONDERFUL weekend at work meeting so many interesting people. Just tonight I had a man who moved here from South Carolina yesterday and was looking for a snow shovel because he didn't have one and was worried about the possibility of this Nor'easter skimming us. Fortunately we had just one left!  |
