I'll add my congratulations too Paul. So do you have your two bedroom colonial with 2 1/2 bathrooms picked out in suburbia yet? My guess is you will enjoy some wandering to the south to enjoy the beautiful countryside South of the sprawl. Spread your wings, dude!

No one who grew up in Pittston, haunted Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, graduated from Kings could possibly become Stepford; it just doesn't happen.

You've had the right kind of attitude all along: take advantage of what is offered, go places, do things, have fun. There's a lot to do and see in that area; you'll love it!

There are "plastic" people everywhere; you know that. Showing up, anywhere, with some interest, some knowledge, some enthusiasm, will carry you a long way.

Congratulations!

Don't "hold fast" to moving back to this region. You never know what the future brings. Make your move with an open mind.

My background check is being completed as I speak, after which point I'll be given a FIRM start date (although I've been told my training in Memphis will begin in early-to-mid June). We're going down the week after Easter to look at housing options in NoVA, preferably something reasonably-priced and within walking distance to my office.

Thanks! Yes. I'll be working for a Federal agency. I still can't believe how comprehensive these background checks are though.

once you get settled in....ask about the 457 plan they offer...it's never too early to plan for the future...I did it when I first started and glad I did...

YEE-HAW! I just got off the phone with a human resources representative from my agency, and I have an official start date in Virginia of June 8, followed shortly thereafter by a two-week training session in Memphis. This is wonderful news!
