Default Confused.....Zion's Grove NEPA?

Well, below you guys will find my post about moving to Zion Grove, PA. However, now I am not sure if I posted this on the right place. I originally posted in the Northeastern PA forum, but this little town is actually about 5 miles from Hazleton, is that NEPA or Lehigh Valley? Any help would be good...thanks...

Hello all, well, after tumbling around, getting out of the military and being in Philadelphia for over 8 months, I am ready to get out of here. I have been lucky enough that I have found a wonderful home in NEPA that I can move into in July. My family and I are thrilled about the prospects NEPA is presenting to us. The man that is renting us the house seems like a wholesome, down to earth man and I am extremely thankful for that. We are moving into a gated community called "The Cove at Green Mountain". Its any one familiar with this place? It is in Zion Grove, closest little town is Oneida, and it is about 7 miles west of Hazleton. Also, where should one start looking for work up in this area? I am a certified Spanish Interpreter and my husband is an Electrician (maritime-trying to transition into industrial/commercial). Also, if anyone know where I can begin looking for before/after school care programs it would be great. Thank you all, any pointers, any info would be great. I don't think I have ever lived in such a secluded area, but I am truly looking forward to it...

I believe Zion Grove would be considered NEPA.

yayameyers, You may be thinking of Zionsville, which is very close to Allentown but you were right with your first thought that it's in NEPA. Moving your post to the NEPA forum.

Hazleton has been relatively successful in transitioning to diversified industry from its mining past.

This success has attracted Hispanic migrants to the area, which in turn has caused friction with the white ethnic longer term residents. I'm sure you've seen this on the news - if you haven't, try Googling "Lou Barletta" for a start. I'm also sure this has created quite a market for Spanish interpreters in the area.

Coming from I-81 on PA 924 is the Humboldt Industrial Park which seems very good compared to other industrial parks in PA, at attracting tenants who probably need industrial electricians. Just driving past the Humboldt Industrial Park gives you no idea of the scale of that development. The Hershey Co. factory there, just one of the occupants, was unaffected by the "global supply chain transformation" that (btw) continues to create opportunities for bilingual engineers in Hershey corporate headquarters.

That East/North Union Twp. area seems to be afflicted with problems with municipal sewage plants, but I'm not sure how those would affect you other than through the rates.

wow ki0eh...thank you for the information. I truly appreciate it. I was very amazed to read about Barletta...he sounds interesting, lol. But I'm glad Hazleton is doing better. I hope I can find work and that my husband can find something too. We probably headed out that way next week to a career fair so that we can see how things go.
