fwiw, i was just down at the wine bar on penn, and it was pretty packed, again. may not matter to these business owners if it lasts-- could make bank in a couple of years and then sell the business off or close it and move on.

Tony Accardo is on a distinguished road
Well I was downtown last night and ate at the Thai restuarant and then walked across the street and bought the new Radiohead on vinyl and then we went to the theater at the old Hotel Jermyn to catch a comedy troupe try out new improv group and then ended up at the Bog after a stop at Judge and Jury. Didn't really seem like a ghost town at all.

Tour de town huh....Judge and Jury? Seriously, obviously your either a young man or someone lost in the adulthood if your hanging out at the Bog. Bog will always be busy because its that bar, the bar for those that don't fit into Da U crowd, a bar for the "party" crowd. Lets see you hit two townie bars and walked right past the Backyard Ale House.......Hmm seems suspect to me.

Actually my ex girlfriend is a bartender at the Backyard Ale House. So that's why I didn't make it a priority. Some residual hard feelings.

I don't know what town you were in, but everything in Scranton seems to stop or close after 9:00. It doesn't fit Doherty's vision as Scranton being a 24 hour town a la Manhattan or even Philadelphia.

I was at Kildare's once at Montage. I wasn't really impressed. The food OK, but its way overpriced.

The thing about Scranton is that there's not much to do that doesn't involve alcohol. It seems everything revolves around bars and drinking here. Doesn't drinking every night get old to most people?

I think it sounds more like Scranton isn't fitting your vision of gloom/doom/Doherty bashing...

Is it really gloom or do you just not see the town that you actually live in.

Tony Accardo any relation to the other poster Joe Batters? Hmmmmm maybe the names are just too much of a coincidence..

ex-girl friend huh, you wouldn't by any chance own your own little bar in the west side would you?
