Thumbs up If you are considering moving to NEPA, go for it.

Just wanted to say that we are here now for about a month. It's been the best thing we have done for ourselves. The people are great here, the shopping and restaurants are also wonderful. Montage Mountain Shoppes are having their grand opening on Thursday also. These shoppes are a wonderful addition to the area. You won't be disappointed if you choose to move out this way. I am north of SWB and he can vouch for this area. It's wonderful.
If you like scenic views, wildlife, nice people and much more, then go for it.

MemoriesBre (Rosanna) is just outside of charming Tunkhannock, the county seat of Wyoming County, which is roughly a half-hour northwest of both Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. The town of Tunkhannock can be see here in one of my photo tours:

Thank you my dear. You are quite helpful.

Love the photos! Looks like a charming place. Is it often overcast there?

Thank you very much, Rosanna, for you uplifting comments. I know Scranton has been plagued lately with political turmoils, red ink, etc., but if you are optimistic enough to look past those flaws, then the city is truly making a comeback. One need not look further than the state of the city just fifteen years ago to see obvious improvements in the quality-of-life for local residents. I just submitted another letter to the editor of the Scranton Times-Tribune regarding this forum and how the political chaos currently afflicting the city is souring people on relocating here, and it will likely be published by the end of the week (I just hope my dad's co-workers don't start harassing him for my opinions again, as they did the last time I submitted something to the Scranton Times-Tribune back in January).

I'm happy to hear that you're acclimating so well to your new home!

You're quite welcome. Unfortunately, I like to call Scranton the "mini Seattle wannabe" because it's often cloudy here, a lot of local residents like punk rock music, and new Starbucks have been popping up left and right around here in the past year. (All we need now is a summer home for Bill Gates!) LOL! Thankfully, beautiful days like today (High of 75 with a blue sky overhead) help to counterbalance those cloudy days. If I'm not mistaken, Binghamton, NY and Scranton, PA are the two cloudiest cities east of the Mississippi River. Nevertheless, we get our fair share of sunshine too!

Smile It really is wonderful here even with the overcast skies

I have to say that overcast skies are not bad at all. Too much sunshine can hurt your eyes, literally. It makes you appreciate the sun when it comes out.

Laurie, it's wonderful here, truely. All the people that we have met are great.
I couldn't be happier. Can't wait for you to be in your new home. We can all get together maybe.

Paul, which Lowe's are you in??? I was looking for you at the one in Dickson City.
Is Dickson City considered Scranton?

You will be very impressed with the area. We got lost in Scranton the other night trying to get to the mall via Rt. 11. Lots of homes that look like Queens, where we grew up. We felt safe even though we were lost in the middle of the neighborhood We finally found the mall too
