Default NP area

Hi there!! I just wanted to reply to your post.....I am 31 years old and I have lived in the area my entire life. It really is a beautiful place to live. The people that live in the area and its surrounding areas are very friendly and the children always have things to do. Granted....growing up I thought it was the worst place in the world because my parents had to drive at least 15 minutes to take me to a friends house but things have changed since then with all of the developments going up around here. The North Pocono football team is made up of some determined guys...but this year they're not doing so well!!! LOL They have won a lot of championship games in the past though!!!! As far as your daughter enjoying dance, there's a dance school located right in the middle of Moscow called Carmel Ardito's School of Dance. I actually took Jazz there when I was a bit younger!!! She's really talented and her staff are amazing! She has even taught classes in NY City! The North Pocono school district is still in high standings! If you do a web search you can get all the info you want on it and you can also get their ranking. They have a great academic program and a lot of extra curricular activities for the students to become involved in. As far as the area, like I said it is a beautiful place to live. The fall foliage is absolutely amazing and even the snow can be quite peaceful at times. If you're serious in your searching and you're interested in looking at some homes in the area I have a friend who works for a realtors office and I would be glad to give you her name in number if you are interested. If you have anymore questions that you would like to ask feel free........I hope I helped you out a little bit!!!

Have a great evening!!!

The North Pocono School District is fantastic. Most of the towns in that area are very well managed and are not seeing the ridiculous, mismanaged nonsense of Monroe County. Basically, once you pass Tobyhanna on I-380n, you'll be alright.

My parents had a house at Moosic Lakes, my sister and I went to the Jefferson Twnshp elementary school and the NP middle school. Its a nice area with good elementary schools although the HS has changed abit with its demograhics. The NY influx has been past the Tobyhanna exit for awhile so its there in the school but not that bad yet. The sewers that have been installed over the last 10+ years have allowed for alot of growth especially in the Mt. Cobb area. Check the range of the school district and that should give you a idea of the out lying communties that you could look at to help stay away from the growth for at least a few years.

Actually many have used City Data in research as to where to head ,or not head, as a new location. This is what City Data is.......a fantastic way to learn, before you leap.
That is what makes it tick......and the clock runs very well.
People see a town on CD that has all their wants and dreams......and they sure do put it on the list of places they might want to live or work.
They also see things, that they might not have.......they just might have imagined the "old town" they grew up in to be like it once was.......and now, perhaps it is not.
Usually it is not one persons opinion of a town that gets it a bad rap. Not even two......
Scrantons going to be fine in the long run. How can it not be?
I think its come a long way lately with the help of its surrounding towns.
I always look forward to the twinkling lights of Scranton while making my way down from the mountains.....its nestled in the valley so nicely.
Live where your happiest.........if not your just wasting valuable time. Life is short.

Oh Yes, I spent 30 years in Denville. Love the town ........great schools.
Mostly I loved all the lakes Denville has. I learned all my ice skating on the Lake Arrowhead pond. Took many a canoe out to catch turtles.......
My favorite lake there is Lk Arrowhead, but we had homes in Indian Lake too.
The girls must love that town. It is the best, just regular town, for kids to grow up in. I had a "dear" friend in Mt Tabor........and a huge bunch of cousins living in Whippany!

Toby ......Great. Josh Turner, growing on me every day.

What I love about Pa. now is that we have some "space" between homes....we have some "wide open spaces" ( as the Dixie Chicks would say)
NJ was getting crowded and the land lots so, so, close.

I was at first offended by a few of your comments regarding life in our little town until I read the replies.
Yes, like every other town in America we have people of every economic class, but to assume that the "trash pickers" shown in the photo were lower income people from our town existing only on the trash of the upper crust is
totally untrue and unfair.
Our town annually provides a spring clean up for all residents to dispose of unwanted household items and unfortunately that happened to be the week that you were here. Yes, people like scrap dealers do drive through town and pick up what they can use. Good for them! Our town has one of the best recycling programs in the state and if something can be re-used all the better. 2008 is Moscow's Centennial year and over 40 different events have been planned. The centennial committee is made up of people from every part of town and are working very hard to make these events fun as well as informitive for everyone. Yes, we are ONE community and we are VERY proud of it. Thanks for the beautiful photography

Moscowofficial...if you read all the posts on Moscow, you will see that it is given very high recommendations from everyone here on this board. As far as those pics...the poster, who is not from the immediate area of Moscow; is always recommending Moscow and The North Pocono School District as a wonderful place to raise a family. This is not the only thread, there are many others.

We are all in agreement wit you, Moscow is a wonderful town!
