Hey, here is the deal with the address thing in APCP no address numbers are getting change and nobody has to pay the fire dept $20 or change their mortgage papers or drivers license. All lies!!! I was up there last week and yes it's an inconvienance but it's something that should have been done years ago. Driving through APCP you'll notice most homes only have a lot # on them. The house I go to only had a lot # so I had to drive over go Walmart and buy 4 .92 cent numbers and place the address that the house always had on the house by the lot number. I don't know where you got your information from but it set me back an hours time and $3.92 no trip to DMV, no fee for changing the mortgage papers. Bash, Bash, Bash without Facts, Facts, Facts... Tell me about a community with no problems and I call you a liar. Tell me a place without crime you'd be full of ****! This is the world we live in we either adapt and overcome our adversities or we sit in a cave on a computer crying about them. Stop crying about everything and making the smallest inconvienance a monumental task. Sometimes I think some of you people are still being breast fed. Things are tough all over deal with it or leave its just that simple!!!

So, Sarge. Did you find a place in PCP yet?

Angry OK yeah...lies?

Maybe "quiet life" didn't see the HUGE sign recently posted by the Coolbaugh VFC sitting RIGHT OUTSIDE the main gate at APCP? Or MAYBE "quiet life" didn't get the ON LINE application on the A Pocono Country Place Web Site..OR MAYBE, "quiet life" didn't notice that the Coolbaugh VFC IS charging $20.00 for the sign.

MAYBE....Quiet Life Doesn't KNOW what he/she is talking ABOUT!

MAYBE..."Quiet Life should do some RESEARCH, before "quiet life" decides to brand comments made (supported by FACTS,) as "lies."

Ya know, I just "LOVE IT" when "some folks" talk as IF they actually know what it is they're talking about. Some folks quick to judge, some folks quick to say...well...if ya don't like where you live...just move!
Easier said than done, especially these days.
But to those who posted and insinuated that what I have stated are lies, well then, get a grip people.

I REALLY don't need to justify myself here, after all, this is forum of opinions and comments, but just to get the record straight...................

1) The Coolbaugh Township Volunteer Fire Company IS Charging a "fee" of $20.00 for our new "sign." This sign is to be posted on your mailbox post. I HAVE the application for the sign. I can either ORDER the sign in a Horizontal or Vertical position. I have to send a Check or Money Order and the CTVFC will CONTACT ME when the sign is ready for me to go PICK IT UP...OK SARGE? YA GOT THAT? OK.

2) I personally Contacted the PA Dept. of Motor Vehicles and I was told this and I quote: IF you wish, we (Penndot) will issue you a temporary card, indicating your new address (at no charge) to be an ADDENDUM to your current Drivers License, which you WILL have to produce to law enforcement IF you are stopped for any reason. HOWEVER, IF you wish to have a new license ISSUED with your current address, you WILL have to pay a FEE of $17.00 PER LICENSE in order to have such issued. ALSO, you WILL have to PROVE your new address. OK SARGE? GOT THAT? GOOD!

3) As far as my mortgage is concerned? I PERSONALLY contacted my bank and told them that the PHYSICAL ADDRESS is to be changed by LAW. I was told, by my bank, to send all the info to them, as well as "FEE" of $125.00 to the "legal dept." as so my mortgage papers will reflect the new "physical address" of the property. OK SARGE? Maybe you should call your bank?

4) As far as moving into APCP with my eyes wide open? LOL..please! Had I known the FIGHT for justice I would have been in for, I WOULD HAVE NEVER moved into this HELL HOLE! HOWEVER, like some COWARDS who are quick to be CRITICAL and have no IDEA of just how much time and money I and so many others INVESTED in getting rid of a CORRUPT Board, ONLY to have yet another bunch of CRONIES take over, you would be as angry as I am. I was the APCP Judge of Elections. I witnessed a board that was HELL BENT on keeping a MINORITY CANDIDATE from gaining a seat on the Board! I fought it and I was ousted. However, I didn't give up. I founded the Former APCP411 Coalition and WE, the Coalition, got rid of the Board, the ATTORNEY, the so called Comptroller (who misplaced or lost over $350.000.00) and the Property manager who had been here for over 20 YEARS and was doing GOD knows what with OUR money!

Some folks may not like the fact that we have lot numbers on our homes. TOO BAD...as long as you know where YOU'RE going, you don't need to know where I live...DO YOU? Some ma say it's high time we all had "uniform" addresses. Well, as long as the APCPPOA Security Force ESCORTS all the EMERGENCY RESPONSE people to where they have to be, I don't think I need to change my address.

Now, we have a "builder' who has put up more than 400 homes in the past 4 years. These homes go for over $155.000.00 in a community where property values have fallen over %40. The average home price, of an "older home" is somewhere between $45.000 to $85.000. YET, these homes are going for the price which CANNOT be substantiated by ANY REALTOR in the area for a home in APCP!

So........you may think I'm not stating facts...that I'm lying......CHECK WHAT I've said out for yourself!

Yeah, when you come into the main gate it all looks pretty. But once you're in here and have been here as long as I have, I can tell you, the UGLY comes into view very quickly! However, like me, IT WILL take you a little while to see it. EVEN IF YOUR EYES ARE WIDE OPEN!

I tell you all this place is GOD FORSAKEN.

Oh by the way...I am moving out of here...again...thank GOD!

Zooldog....I think your comments are misdirected. I don't see where Quiet was arguing with your points concerning signage. Looks to me he was just commenting on someone else. BTW,
Congratulations on your upcoming move!

Nah, I didn't argue with him at all. I feel his frustration, though. You try to move to a place where you can grow as a family and things turn ugly. Through no fault of your own. I do have a problem with the address change. I personally didn't see a reason for it. I have the new sign but haven't put it up yet. The board here is pestering me to provide my new address to them. I don't see the point although, eventually, I will provide it to them. Seems like all the municipalities are aching for money. This will help their coffers. That's for sure.

I did Census work for Wayne County and I can tell you it was a real nightmare in some developments due to some physical properties having multiple "numbers" and they were not consistent. Some homes went by lot number or numbers if they built on more then one, while houses next door or across the street went by actual addresses. A property could have a physical address, mailing address, a post office box as well as an out of town mailing address. I would assume that when the housing boom happened, no one took the time to standardize the situation and it got out of control. We are relying more and more on technology like GPS'S. Long gone is the day when everyone knew the neighborhood and their neighbors so I think it is important to have a good data base even though it does have some Big Brother aspects to it.

I live in a development not far from my fire station. Some of our roads are on gps or mapquest but not all. I was shocked when talking to a volunteer recently that had no idea where my development was or how he would get to me house. I would hope SOMEONE on the team would but it made me stop and think.

I rented in APCP for 3yrs before buying my home in here. I also worked for public safety as dispatcher, secretary to the chief and gate officer. I knew years of history before buying here and we are thrilled with our home. Neighborhood and neighbors! We have owned our home in k section for 5 yrs now.... finished raising our children here and during that time none of us have had any problems here at all. We are a diverse family and enjoy friendships with people of all races and religions. Our home has decreased in value to the point we are underwater now but that doesn't bother us as we are here for the long haul. If we could we would be buying up houses as fast as we could.

And just why did your home decrease in value, especially after you have been there for so many years? Hmmmm........
