NEW DALLAS RESIDENT is on a distinguished road
Default Pools around Dallas?

Anyone know of any pools that are good for families with young children in the Dallas area? I'm looking to join one for the summer - public or private - both ok.

I don't think Dallas has a public swimming pool. Harvey's Lake used to have "sunset beach" where you pay a fee to swim in the lake. Other then that, I go to the Kingston Pool, which isn't very far from you. it is a nice large pool with a low and high diving board. They also have a kiddie pool, a volleyball court, and a large grass area for picinic's or suntanning. You can buy a season pass or pay by the day which is $5.00 per person, $3.00 after 6:00pm. Forty-Fort also has a public pool off of Wyoming Ave. at the Forty-Fort municipal play ground, and they may be a little closer to you then the kingston pool, but thiers is much smaller, and I'm not sure of the prices there.

Welcome to Dallas! My husband and I moved there last year and we love it. The closest public pool that I know of is located inside of Francis Slocum Park. This park is just minutes from Dallas (5-10 mins. tops). Give their office a call to find out how to join. If you haven't been there yet, the park and lake there are beautiful as well.

Oops... I forgot about Frances Slocum, and I go there every summer. Shame on me. I second Enya's opinion too. I is a very nice swimming pool.

Frances Slocum's pool is awesome. They have water slides and a snack bar.
