bldginpa will become famous soon enough
It's a great time of year for day trips to check out the various areas. Everything will be in bloom soon and green again. We visited in the fall and the scenery is what sold us! No traffic, very few traffic lights, interstates that connect you to everything/everywhere so you're never too far from hospitals, shopping, etc. We can't wait for the peace and quiet, unlike Long Island. I think you're wise to steer clear of Stroudsburg; it's definitely a "bedroom" community for NY/NJ commuters and is not a quiet little town anymore. It's quite built up and congested. There's a flea market there in the summertime that holds up traffic for miles! Good luck with your search....if you search for Pocono Real Estate on google, you'll see a lot of realtors with MLS listings. I think I searched through every one! You'll get to see photos of properties and houses, some will have taxes listed, and some will have photo tours. At least you can see what you can get for your money. Any questions, I'll be glad to help.

CheenaP, The Hideout is in the Western Wayne School District, it is a decent school district, not as well known as Wallenpaupack, but the grades and SAT scores are not far from each other. My husband commuted to L.I. from here, it took him about 3 hrs., he traveled at times when there was no traffic.
