Default Scranton City Council

I have some roots in the Scranton area and so a few months ago happened upon the Ray Lyman videos on Youtube. Oh my! Yesterday I was wondering what Ray has been up to lately but didn't find anything new. So I looked on the Scranton City Council website and read the transcript of a recent meeting. The comments from the residents made it sound like a soap opera or a three-ring circus! So, can anyone give me an update on Ray? And I don't suppose there's any way to watch an occasional City Council meeting online or somewhere else, is there? I feel like I'm missing out on some good entertainment! My dad said he and my mother used to get some good laughs while watching the meetings on cable but being out of the area, we don't have that channel.

Mr. Lyman is a mentally challenged individual......he should not be the brunt of peoples jokes..I am always amazed that the 2 or 3 challenged people that speak at council are ridiculed by the people who watch...
Take a ride to the A.R.C. you should have a gut buster down there!!!!!!

Thank you for setting that straight, I was unaware of it. What I've seen is the excerpts posted by other people on websites making light of him. We had a group here to address a local issue a few years ago in which one of our members also had some challenges; he was very dedicated but some of what he said and did could also have been taken out of context so I understand what you're saying. (I've also seen some joking references to him on this forum, by one member in particular of whom I should have known better, that reinforced my initial impression.)

In any case, when I read the transcript I was amazed at some of the free-wheeling statements made by both the citizen speakers and the council members and I think it would be very interesting to watch an entire meeting and get a sense of the whole operation.

Gee. I wonder just who that certain someone could possibly be that you're referencing? Hmmmmm....I wonder.

Yes, ScranBarre, hi and I assume your graduation is this weekend? Congratulations, hope it's a happy day for both you and your parents. Safe travels to NoVA where you can begin to have legitimacy to your posts as an actual resident!

Thanks. I'm relieved to see that you weren't trying to get a "rise" out of me with that remark I quoted. Most of the tensions on the NoVA sub-forum between myself/Fern435/Alanboy and a few others against you/Denton56/Normie/FromVAtoNC and a few others have died down, and I want to KEEP it that way. The incessant bickering all of us were doing was only creating hardship for those who wanted to have their questions answered and was causing poor Tone509's head to spin I'm sure! The next thread I post on that forum that will be a "head-turner" will be a photo tour, although I admittedly haven't decided where to shoot first (I will have to "bump" up my old photo tour poll thread on the NoVA sub-forum I suppose so more can vote). I've made my personal opinions and convictions clear. So have others. We're all just going to have to agree to disagree on the three main issues that people took offense to.
