Where to discard a television?
My RCA Stereo ColorTrak TV (screen diagonal measures 27") suddenly lost the picture and went to shadows. I don't know whether it will resolve on its own and don't know whether it requires a simple or costly repair.
I posted it for free on Freecycle but had only no-shows.
Where/ How in Tobyhanna do I discard it, please? I'm new to PA.

Just do like most people out here do...put a sign on it saying "FREE" and list the problem with it. You'd be surprised who may find it useful to add to a spare bedroom or a kid's room for when they come over on weekends, etc. The person who takes it may also be handy with electronics and figure out what went wrong and for a few dollars has a new 2nd TV they can use.

In Tobyhanna you can dispose of it at the Township Building On Echo Lake Rd ,, It may cost you $5. But they take electronics on certain days ..
Plus the Spring Clean - up is around the corner They may take it for free that day ..

A riverbank works well, or you can through it behind or in a dumpster behind a Loews, or Home Depot, or you can do what they do here in Wilkes-Barre put your junk out on the curb, and tape a piece of paper that says FREE to it!

Thanks for the suggestions.
I can't lift it.
My HOA will fine me if it's on my curb.
I think I'll get help getting it into my car and I'll bring it to the recycling shack in my old HOA in NJ when I visit friends. )
Thanks!

Best Buy takes used electronics. They charge $5 or $10 but give you a $5 or $10 gift card for the store.

If nobody wants it via Freecycle, Craigslist, etc. just put it out for the garbage man. If your garbage man is picky about what he'll take, or you want to appear to be "environmentally correct" just put a bag around it.
