how many sq ft is is it?
a large bookstore seems like a good addition, and a destination in a way that i don't think anthology is. i know we'd appreciate a children's section..
i'd prefer an independent store--maybe anthology would expand?--but b&n would be great too..

Don't forget, the Casey Laundry building, which contains Anthology books, also has a coffee shop on the first floor. It's overkill. But, then again, Scranton is overkill, ain't it? Who else has a Coney Island across from a Coney Island?
I don't know if we need another bar downtown, I think that is pretty much already covered.
I had also thought of maybe something like a Johnny Rockets, but space would be limited, and I think their business would be as well. I also don't know if Pappa's Pizza has any lease clauses that would preclude another large eatery in the same building.

I always thought a Virgin Records either in downtown Scranton or Wilkes Barre would be a good idea.

While we are spouting out ideas like this that are likely never to happen, why not an Ikea, Dave & Buster's, or Whole Foods too!?

Paul, we're looking specifically at a business that we could expect to fit into the provided space of the Flashbacks location and be viable given all of the particulars of downtown Scranton.
I've never been to a Cheesecake factory, can someone give a description?

The Cheesecake Factory is a chain sit-down cafe noted for its very extensive selection of flavored cheesecakes, as the name would imply. They also have various other foods, including pastas (and I think burgers and salads too). There's really no good places in the immediate Scranton area outside of grocery stores to pick up a good cheesecake (I've made the trek out to Tannersville a few times myself).

Paul, can we find out if there are any cities our size that have a Cheescake factory? Do you think this would be a good choice for the downtown and Scranton in general?
:edit: I just checked their menu out, it looks like they have a pretty good selection. It also seems as though it would not have an overly negative impact on other downtown businesses, and important factor that should be taken under consideration.
By the way, I would really like a B&N in the Scranton area; I think they have a better selection than Borders. Are there any other vacant storefronts that might be better suited to the size and scope of a Barnes?

Hello, I would like to suggest the town of Scranton, PA for your next new retail location. Please visit the following link, in which others describe their enthusiasm for a Cheesecake Factory in the downtown.
Thanks
