Ideas for the 'Flashbacks' location?
No matter what happens in the primary, the city will continue on. I keep seeing the empty Flashbacks location, and wondering what kind of business would succeed there.
The only thing I can realistically come up with is maybe a Panera Bread, considering the current climate downtown. Any other ideas? We already pulled Kildare's off the mountain, there's also a Panera up there... Are there any copy-cat competitors to Panera that may be interested?
Is the planned facelift for the garage at Linden and Washington still going to happen?

I think they've been closed for quite some time now...
That parking garage definitely needs a facelift.

Agreed. A Downtown Barnes & Noble that would also feature an in-house Starbuck's and offer a joint college textbook store for the University of Scranton, Marywood, and Lackawanna, similar to what is currently in Downtown Wilkes-Barre for King's/Wilkes/LCCC, would be a great new anchor for that end of downtown from which more business growth would inevitably follow, as this would "force" students to head downtown to see all there is to offer.

Are you kidding me? The way the Scrantonians on this forum flip out when a new coffeehouse, gift shop, or day spa opens downtown I could just imagine the RAMPAGE that would ensue if a methadone clinic came to town!

I think a bookstore would be overkill. You have a starbucks right inside the mall, northern light across the square, and anthology books just behind them. In this area, there are only so many people who wish to drink more than a cup of regular coffee and know how/like to read. I think what we have already more than covers that niche.

Where downtown can I get something off the best seller list, or books for a kid, or something from the summer reading list? Yeah, including a coffeeshop is overkill, but bookstores are there to sell books, not brew coffee.
