Ahh, a fellow Long Islander. EFO Furniture in Dunmore and Butler's in Mount Cobb are two good ones that come to mind.

While it is hit or miss I bought a good quality living room set at Big Lots and got a great deal.

We purchased furniture at C&O Furniture in Eynon. Prices were very fair and they can order just about anything for you. Showroom is large (warehouse type) but they also have books you can look through. We dealt with Andy. They also have their own delivery truck and place the furniture exactly where you want it.

I know someone who knows someone (OK...anyway!) that purchased furniture from big lots and it was infested with Bed Bugs..... |

We bought a few things from Big Lots and I would never recommend them. Very shoddy materials IMO.
I have to go with AtHome. We bought a dining room set from Country Junction. They have great, unique styles and while they may be a bit pricey, IMO, it's worth it when it comes to quality.
Have fun! I love furniture shopping.
