No kidding! How long has that been? I feel like I've been gone forever now lol And it really hasn't been that long.
I do like the Crossings for a lot of shopping. My mom's house is only about 5 minutes away so I like to check out the sales when I'm there. And I definitely LOVE the Fossil outlet

They stopped charging tax on clothing purchases about a 2 years now. They wanted to stop people from traveling to Jersey or other places and bring more business to NYC. Its funny now that I live in PA. I think I pay taxes on clothes. I am not sure, lol...

No Roxy.....no tax on clothes in Pa...unless you're out Prom Dress shopping....or maybe bathing suits ....
If you are buying wool or fabric to be made into clothes, if you tell them at the register, they won't charge you tax.

I think the word "outlet" is what excites people. I haven't been to the Crossings in a long time but I can tell you that the prices were not any better than hitting a good sale in the store. IMO, of course!

IMO? I think the whole thing is a sham. I think even the discounted clothing prices are ridiculous. I never saw the draw of the Crossings.

The Crossings aren't cheap at all. We buy a lot of the kids' clothes at Childrens Place, and I noticed that the crossings has a Childrens Place "outlet." The "outlet" was pretty much the exact same Childrens Place store that you'd find at any mall, with the exact same prices. So we drove all the way to Tannersville for the same clothes and prices that we could have found at Steamtown or Montage.
I think the Crossings exists to cater to people from NY and NJ....the prices at the Crossings are probably still better than NYC prices, plus PA has no sales tax on clothing.

They're not really discounted at all, you're right. It's in an ideal spot in the Poconos and all the people in NY and NJ love to go there on the weekend. It was good for them because they didn't have to pay sales tax, but like roxxy stated, no more sales tax in NY. Like Matt, stated, some of the stores in the Crossings are not outlets, they're just like their mall stores, so you won't get a better deal there.

I agree with most of you, never found any bargains at the Crossings. I do a lot of shopping online and do much better.
