The Crossings Premium Outlets
So I've never been to an outlet mall before but from what I understand, things at the outlet malls are supposed to be cheaper than what it would cost if you were to buy it at the non-outlet store. Is that true at The Crossings Premium Outlets or is that place more like any ole mall in America and you dont see any price change?

I don't think the prices are any better than sale prices are at the mall. I compared some of the prices at an Aeropostale store to what the prices were at the mall and it was almost exactly the same. I do like shopping at the Crossings occasionally, just because there are some different stores to look around in. But most of it is designer labels and way too pricey for me.

I think that the reason it's such a big hit - especially with the people who come from NY - is really just that there is no sales tax on the clothing in PA. There are a few outlets that do have some better prices, and certainly sales do help out, but I would agree that it's more like a mall.

Yes, it can get very crowded during the summer and on weekends with people on bus trips from out of state that are here for the tax-free deal.

I actually went one time at midnight on Black Friday with my sister... just because her boyfriend worked at one of the outlets and we could get extra discounts lol It was absolutely insane. I tried working there once too after I quit my job at a police department. BAD IDEA.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess it's just better to watch for the sales. I wouldn't go there out of the blue just to shop and spend money because I'm always looking for deals. I looked on the website and seen that some stores have real good sales so I guess gotta just look out. And yeah, I bet it's super crazy on Black Fridays lol.

I love Crossings. You can find things there that are better priced. Like everything else you need to be a good consumer and know your prices. I have bought many things there and saved money. If you go to their website you can join and get free coupons. I bought 4 pairs of sneakers (reebok) and saved a fortune. I paid about 140 dollars for the 4 pairs. You cannot buy sneakers in the store for 35 dollars each. Two of the pairs were for my husband and he has a very large foot and just his sneakers would of cost me over a 100 dollars for one pair. A couple of years ago my friend and I went and we were looking at Ann Taylor suits. They were 75 dollars and those also were at least 150 dollars in the department stores.
If you shop around you will find bargains, like anything else.
By the way NY does not charge sales tax on clothing anymore!

the aeropostale in tannersville is not an outlet store, it is the same as any aeropostale in any mall in america. most of the other stores are outlets and you will find great deals in them.
