What were they thinking when the state is roughly shaped like a RECTANGLE?!! On the plus side the people of Upstate NY must feel flattered that we're trying to emulate them.

Dan, funny you should post that. I friend of mine who lives outside of the city joked to me yesterday, that they should just level Scranton and start over.

UGH! NEVER! Scranton has soul, charm, and heritage that should be treasured and preserved, not destroyed. Why do you think so many people are always in awe of the homes in Green Ridge, parts of The Hill, parts of Hyde Park, and many of the older buildings downtown? Scranton is unique in that it has preserved quite a bit of its historic architecture whereas in places like NoVA, Raleigh/Durham, Charlotte, Tulsa, Tucson, and other "hot spots" everyone lives in a tract house and patronizes strip malls! NEVER dream of leveling Scranton to the ground!

I couldn't agree more Paul. Those cities that you mentioned all look the same. Even a lot of the Lehigh Valley looks like that. Blech. Who wants that?

Like I said Scranton is a "living" movie set spanning close to 2 centuries.......need to sell that point. Go for charm and nostalgia.

Yeh they are in such awe that they are leaving in a mass exodus for the outlying communities...Those houses and buildings look better from a far I guess.
