I just did a little blog on him here at CD..........I hope everyone will write him a note there.......
I know he will write us often.........But, I was so sad when he wrote me 20 min before he left....and I wasn't on at the time to respond........( Good Golly)....All his photos of towns, and all that good information........We are really, really, going to miss him for sure.

As most of you know I gave up the "mod" thing
for certain reasons...and probably won't be on much..If at all....But I just
had to post this and give Paul his props. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul last year, what a nice,Intelligent, respectful young man. Thanks for all the Info
on all the areas and colleges...I am very happy for you and proud of you
for making a good decision and wish all the best of luck to you...
God bless you and everything you do..you will be successful...but don't forget
to have fun and travel...never forget your roots...where you came from...
Godspeed to you my friend...

Best of luck to you Paul. Enjoy D.C. and say howdy for me, it is my hometown after all.

Welcome to NOVA ScranBarre! I hope you had a smooth move. Please don't feel that you weren't well received on the NOVA forum. I loved reading all of your posts and really would love for you to continue, and to add photo tours when you have time. I do agree that you have better things to do than bicker, and yes you should be out there checking out all that is here,(I've been here 20 years and still find new things to do), but please continue to share your photos and comments. Good Luck!

Welcome to the Commonwealth of Virginia Paul. It is a great place to take in. I know you will do the Valley proud. As someone who left after graduating for a planned few years, now 30!, I know your heart will always be at home in NEPA.
Best of luck in your new career and life.

Thanks again for all of the well-wishes, everyone! My Verizon Fios installer just left my apartment, so now I am once again connected to the Internet! I've already fallen in love with NoVA, especially Old Town Alexandria.

I hope you enjoy the move...and the unpacking. there is NOTHING better then exploring a new town, but not in a tourist way. everything is new and exciting. plus you get to enjoy REAL sweet tea! there is nothing better then a new favorite restaurant in a new town. but as much new you will find you miss some of the simple old stuff. But you will always be close enough to hop in the car for a weekend back home

ya, its that way for the phoenix forum too. its amazing how an area known for being inconsiderate and rough is much more friendly and welcoming online. there is nowhere like NEPA

A lot of people in NoVA tend to be insecure in general. Many go down there with big egos and are not used to being put in their place by people with even larger ones. They buy fancy European cars and ostentatious McMansions with their high salaries to try to prove that they are "worth something" because they work so many hours and commute in so much congestion that they honestly just feel empty inside (even though I'd be MORE impressed by the ones who'd instead give much of their fortunes to charities, but I digress). It's a very high stress area, and that is reflected on the sub-forum, where a lot of people get bent out of shape if you ever try to make an intelligent critique of the area---if you're not 100% "rah, rah NoVA" you get a lot of grief on that forum whereas here it's more balanced between "Doomers" and "Boosters" of NEPA. Contrary to what they say, NoVA is NOT perfect. It's better so far than NEPA in many facets, but I can agree that I MISS being a relevant part of this sub-forum. Many in NoVA are just looking to pick a fight with you because they get bored and like drama. Then when you defend yourself a whole brou-ha-ha erupts and everyone's feelings are hurt.

that is funny. you could have the exact same post about most of phoenix metro, only people are not rah rah phoenix, they just continually bash the area. many that post here are disappointed with their move here (since most people here are from somewhere else) and they are looking for an outlet to complain... i pretty much only go there to defend my section of town...
