Ferri's Pizza - Old Forge/Taylor Main Street????
I just learned today that Ferri's Pizza in Old Forge/Taylor has closed and been demolished, and so has the strip mall that stood next to it. This is news to me, because I moved back to NJ in 2004, unfortunately.
Ferri's was a place of many memories of my time in NEPA (1998-2004)....and I am curious as to what happend to that place?? I'd also like to know what happened to the strip mall next to it...although when I used to go to Ferri's, that place was kinda empty all the time. But now everything leveled according to the street view in Google Earth. Can anyone shed any light on why both places are gone and what happened? Thanks.

There are plans for a new Wal-Mart and shopping center as well as a chain restaurant that will fill that area.
It was supposed to be finished and opened more than a year ago while they haven't even finished developping the land so I don't think it will ever be finished

I think Ferri's moved just up the street a few blocks on Main Ave in West Side.

Now on Keyser Avenue in Scranton
Ferri's recently reopened in a small refurbished building on Keyser Ave. approximately 1/2 mile from the Jackson St. traffic light. There are a few booths for dining in, but I think the business is still more 'take out' (as it was before). The menu includes pizzas (Old Forge Style...) hot sandwiches, and hoagies.

Ok wow.....so they're still "in the area"....good to know. Are we sure its the same Ferri's that was in that building? I was afraid they fell victim to all the other BS national chains that seem to be phasing out the mom and pop shops.
Another walmart?? Because they NEED one there....Dickson City isnt far away, geez. Walmart is like the plague.
When did they tear all this down?

That area has always been a trouble spot. Better off to leave well enough alone.

Someone FINALLY agrees with me?!! They're building another Supercenter in both Pittston Township AND Exeter as well, even though both Wilkes-Barre Township and Dickson City are quick drives away!

the "walmart" was supposed to open in taylor in the spring of 2007. they have signs out front advertising that the buildings are for lease and will open at that time. the comedic thing about that is that they tried covering the sign up with duct tape, but it has been sooooo long that even the tape wore off the sign.
