Driving by it on the way to Great Wolf lodge gives me the creeps. It has an eery air to it. Houses unkept, debris all over the yards, run down in my opinion. loveinbloom, that is scary being harassed like that..........

Hi
I have a home in PCP & in NYC and first the people that post nonsense things about PCP must live in a bubble. Our PCP home is in a great community with really wonderful neighbors. they all look out for each other. No gangs or teangers harrassing anyone. No grafiti on the walls. People that post crap on this forum are just bashers. Our neightborhood in NYC is much more $$$$ and yet it's not perfect and you would think the people would behave different since they have lots more $$$$

APCP is nothing but a dump that needs to have a team of 50 bulldozer's come in and raze the whole place!! Give it back to Mother Nature and the wildlife!! They'd make better use of it than those who live there and like living in dumps that remind them of where they came from!!!!

If I am piecing some of the bits together right, here is what I see.....
PCP was nice in the 80's and 90's. Somewhere between the late 90's and early 2000's, it turned trashy (generally speaking, not including all residents of course).
In the past year or so, depending on who you believe, it may still be a trash pit or it may be on the rise. Moreover, there may be some sections that are nicer than others. There seem to be a lot of rental listings on Craigslist....but there also seems to be fewer crimes reported. Does that mean the thugs are moving out and crime is going down, or the nice people are fleeing and the papers are tired of covering PCP crime (after a while, its just not news anymore).
We have a place over here in Ohio that seems very similar called Trotwood. The area is mostly farmland on the West Side and city-sprawl on the East Side. They have more crime there than in downtown Dayton. Land is cheap because of the bad rap, and its plentiful because of farms breaking up, so every inner-city dreamer moves his or her family out to Trotwood to escape a Dayton fate, only to find that the city and the guns and the violence are there waiting. Meanwhile, there are still a lot of very nice people who live in Trotwood, and if you drive for about 5 mins in any direction, the crime rates drop.
So now that I've bored everyone.....
I'm going to visit PCP around the 4th of July as part of my greater WB-Scranton tour to look for a home. While all the hullabaloo has made me reconsider renting, I just HAVE to go see the place out of morbid curiosity. I'll let you know what I see when I get back.
