The term tray came from the rectangular bakelite trays that the pizza was served on in the numerous pizza places in the valley...

I guess we'll need to let much of the Lehigh Valley know that they shouldn't say they live in Northeast PA.

I've never met anyone from the Lehigh Valley that says they're from NEPA. I've always thought of LV being more SEPA than NEPA. I guess they're sort of in-between and can go either way.

Do you live in the Lehigh Valley? Well, I have for most of my life and all of my friends and family first say Lehigh Valley and when people don't know where that is, they respond with northeast PA.

I was born and raised in NEPA - Wilkes Barre. I always called pizza just that...pizza. "I'm going to get a pizza" "Can I have a large pizza?" "Get a medium pizza"

Never tray or pie.

I've seen the Old Forge, Senapes, and Nardone pizzas at the grocery store. Can you tell me the difference between the three please? I'm wondering if it is similar to the pizza we buy at Easton Baking that they call tomato pie. It's square, kind of like sicilian but with no cheese and most often served cold.
I never heard the term tray either until I moved to PA. It was either pie or just plain pizza. The only pizza I knew was the round, Neapolitan type or the square Sicilian type.

I always thought the Lehigh Valley region was separate and not part of the NEPA region, being that Allentown and the surrounding towns were south of here and more central in the state.

I have lived in NEPA (Pike County) my ENTIRE life and NOBODY I know calls it a "tray." It's always just "a pizza" or "pizza pie" or just "pie."

NEPA is made up of more than just nuances from the Scranton/Wilkes Barre valley.

I spent a few of my early years in Bristol, just north of Phila, and my dad never called it anything but "tomato pie"...And it was ALWAYS round...

Hey Seafood, there wasn't any need to mention the loss of 6 million jews. Totally classless. I really don't understand some people, how many laughs was worth it.
