OK that about says it! We are planning to spend the 4th in your area and we want to know where we can view the best display.
Beautiful natural surroundings and available food or pick-nick areas could not hurt since we are STILL from out of town. :-(
Suggestions VERY welcome!

Hi Sheena from Long Island, We viewed the 4th of July Fireworks from our marina, however, many people went to Wallenpaupack High School to view the spectulcular fireworks that start at 9:00pm. Most firework displays that are colorful are done in the evening hours. More information to come in the next couple of weeks.

Wilkes-Barre's Kirby Park has the largest fireworks display in our region to my knowledge. They also have a bunch of carnival food vendors, rides and the NEPA Philharmonic plays all the patriotic music before and during the display

Lake Ariel has a nice fireworks display, but also every Friday night at the PNC Field........you can view it from the parking lot of the movie theatre up on Montage.

Kirby Park's were pretty craptacular last year =\

My mom and one of her friends went actually to a church for a show and they said it lasted almost an hour and had great priced food! Said it was much , much better than Kirby. I'll find out the name off her tomorrow for you.

Mohegan Sun also does a fireworks display. I think they do thier's on the 3rd of July, probably so it won't conflict with Kirby Park's on the 4th

Just got back from Wildwood this afternoon. I called around and got a good deal on a room (two nights for $199). Great time! The ocean was a little too cold yet, and it was a little overcast, but still and all we had a good time, and for that price it was a no brainer. Even though the ocean was cold, they had the motel pool heated, so we spent alot of time swimming in there. As usual the kids cried when we left, and I didn't want to go home either . I can't wait to get back down there in a few weeks.

Just a note on the fireworks display at PNC Field. While you can
always watch them from the Cinemark parking lot, what you miss
is the live orchestra on the field playing classical music while the
show goes on. There really is no space for picnicing, and the
concessions are not cheap, but it is a different experience that
you may want to try.

Last year we went to the High school and it was really gret. What a great atmosphere.

A few years ago my friends were redoing a building in Brooklyn and had a 4th party on their rooftop. It was wonderful.

This year we are joining friends and having a barbque on the lake.

Good luck. Its a wonderful day.
