Default Scranton, June 20th, 12-8: a "green minded" block party

A friend sent me this: http://www.recycleonadams.com

Don't know who's behind it, but I'd guess given the location on the 300 block of Adams that it's Green Being and Eden..

Thought some folks on here might be interested..

Blip that does sound interesting. My experience with block parties has been less than positive.
Once a few years ago we were talked into paying 75 bucks to attend a "block party" that turned out to be a political fund raiser for a candidate with whom we ..uh vehemently disagree.
I have never seen more bad food piled upon Styrofoam plates laced with dispicable politics and racist inuendo in one place.
But the IDEA of a block party is so friendly and appealing!

That sounds whack, Sheena, but I'd guess this one isn't some stealth fund raiser for some politicians I'd hate. I don't think they'd even know what "sustainability" means in this context.

Blip - do you know anything about the bands They have that cool ''77 CBGB, Velvet Underground vibe.
If Eden is involved - which I am sure they are, I can be sure that there will be something that we can eat and that Styrofome plates will not be involved.
My 15 y.o. is interested in going. Very good sign - moving with teens is not easy... no it's terrible.
Are you and your family going?

So weluvpa, are YOU a fan of Talking Heads, Lou and The Ramones???
I doubt they are throwing up - well perhaps Lou reed who is infamous for his antipathy towards his fans.
The Ramones would be delighted - if any of them were still living. Especially Joey.
